Tibetan Mastiffs originated in Tibet 5,000 years ago. Lord Hardinge brought them to the West in 1847. The AKC named the breed in 2008.

Tibetan Mastiffs have thick coats with different colours that don't keep water away.  Men weigh between 100 and 160+ lbs., and women weigh between 75 and 125+ lbs. Soft wool-like interior.

Tibetan Mastiffs can be good with kids if they grow up with them, but they might not understand rough play.  They are not good for people who have kids.
